Change cannot happen when we're asleep, and the practice for staying awake involves the cultivation of Awareness and Presence. Asana, meditation, and breathwork are some practices that can help us move in this direction. It helps to recognize that they don't always do that, and last weekend was about exploring that intention and finding ways to make sure our practice is aligned with that purpose.
I'd like to share with you some of my notes - a diagram of the role of awareness and presence in the process of conscious transformation: How exactly do they impact the process? And why efforts at changing are futile without them.
I hope it helps clarify the relevance of the inquiry we focused on last weekend with, and maybe even serve as a guide in your own explorations and practice. Feel free to share your thoughts and your process, and I will keep posting more of mine to articulate parts of that inquiry that open up to me until we get together for Part 2 in September.
